Storage Climate: All See's Candies are kept within the tempurature range obetween 7.2 to 21.1 C (45 - 72 F) with relative huminity not to exceed 60%.
Where Your Candy Comes From
All See’s Candies are proudly made in our San Francisco or Los Angeles factories using Mary See’s original recipes and the finest ingredients. Each assortment or individual piece is sealed on site to preserve its freshness before beginning its carefully managed journey to Australia.
Once manufactured, your order travels in temperature-cooled freight to our Australian distribution centre, where it’s stored securely in a temperature-controlled environment until it’s ready to ship.
During warmer months, your chocolates are cooled to their lowest safe temperature before being packed with food-grade ice packs to maintain ideal conditions in transit. We ship exclusively via Australia Post Express (1–3 business days) to ensure speed, reliability, and freshness.
Each order is securely packed in double-walled recyclable cardboard for extra protection, so your See’s treats arrive looking and tasting just as they should — perfect.
Sustainable Packaging & Cooling Packs
We’re proud to use recyclable and eco-friendly materials in our packaging wherever possible. Our shipping boxes, paper cushioning, and inserts are recyclable, and our cooling packs are reusable or can be safely disposed of in your garden or through standard waste systems. See’s Candies Chocolate Storage Tips
It's here! Now how do you keep it fresh?
Keep it fresh! Because our candy is made without preservatives, it’s best enjoyed within 3–4 weeks of purchase. On the road? Simply store your treats in an insulated shopping bag with a few ice packs. If you’re worried about melting mishaps, check out our warm-weather friendly treats like Lollypops, Peanut Brittle, and more.
Keep it Cool! The best way to store See’s chocolate is in a cool, dry, and dark place — the pantry is perfect. Just avoid heat and humidity, and your chocolate will be ready to enjoy whenever the craving strikes.
Refrigerate if You Must (But Contain Your Excitement!) If the weather’s particularly warm, you can pop your favourites in the fridge for a short time. Be sure to place them in an airtight container to protect against humidity and other food odours. Once removed, let the chocolate return to room temperature before eating — it’ll taste just as delicious. Stored this way, your chocolates can last up to six months.
Freezing Chocolate — Handle with Care! Freezing chocolate is fine if done carefully. If you’re heading off on a long holiday and want to keep your treats fresh, go ahead — just avoid “shocking” the chocolate by thawing it too quickly. Move it from the freezer to the fridge overnight first, then let it come to room temperature before indulging. This helps prevent chocolate bloom and keeps your See’s as smooth and satisfying as ever.
What Is Chocolate Bloom?
Have you ever noticed light grey or white, chalky streaks on chocolate — usually when you rescue that forgotten bar from the car seat? That discolouration is called chocolate bloom, which happens when the cocoa butter separates and crystallises on the surface.
Proper chocolate storage is essential, as exposure to heat or humidity can cause this bloom effect, bringing the cocoa solids to the surface. It’s perfectly safe to eat, but it won’t look or taste quite as good. To avoid it, keep your chocolate in a cool, dry place and away from temperature changes (a secret hiding spot never hurts!) so it stays smooth and delicious for longer.
